Mini PCNL
Training in mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) necessitates the trainee to climb the steep learning curve of this procedure sequentially. The initial steps of the process should be the acquisition of the necessary skills in a non intimidating skills lab
Training in mini PCNL starts with cognitive knowledge, reinforcement through repetitive nonpatient basic skills acquisition in wet and dry skills lab, prototyping the technique before the actual procedure, and finally supervised training under an able mentor.
COURSE DETAILS:
- Basic skills: Instruments identification and assembly, basic cystoscopy and ureteroscopy, guide wire placement, ureteric catheter placement, calyceal navigation, stone identification, knowledge of C arm placement
- Moderate/Intervention skills: Initial Puncture of pelvicalyceal system, Dilatation of tract, Accurate placement of access sheath, stone disintegration and fragmentation using different energy sources, DJ stenting
- Advanced skills: Full procedures, preventing and managing complications, handling complex procedures
- Hands on Training as per the rules and regulations of Nepal Medical Council.
- Exposure and training in 30-50 cases in 2weeks program.
Eligibility:
- Must have completed post-graduation in urology from a recognized institution
- Must have registration with the medical council of their respective country.
- Must have at least 1 year experience in endourology after completion of their post graduation

TURP
Course Objectives
To provide adequate knowledge of understanding of the endoscopic anatomy of prostate, pathophysiology of BPH, current optimal diagnostic tools require for management of BPH and all state-of-the-art endoscopic surgical techniques available today.
- This course would include Bipolar TURP, Laser ablation / enucleation of the prostate.
- The hallmark of this course would be interactive case discussion on management of BPH and its complications.
- At the end of the Course each participants should be able to do

- Transurethral resection of Prostate
- Understand the difference in techniques with LASER and Bipolar resection
- Understand the difference instrumentation needed for conventional procedures
- Have a working knowledge to preform laser ablation / enucleation of prostate
- Be able to diagnose and manage complications of TURP
- Hands on Training as per the rules and regulations of Nepal Medical Council.
- Exposure and training in 15-20 cases in 2 weeks program.

- Must have at least 1 year experience after completion of their post graduation
